The Shape of the Internet: Influence and Consequence Network researchers have discovered strong power law relationships in the Internet. These can be interpreted as a direct fingerprint of the fractal structure present on the net. Work has only recently begun on analyzing the implications of such a structure on attack tolerance, government snooping, and the like.
